Pranayama is a Sanskrit word that refers to the practice of controlling the breath in yoga and meditation. It involves regulated breathing patterns and techniques aimed at promoting physical and mental well-being. Pranayama is believed to have many benefits, including reducing stress and anxiety, improving focus and concentration, and promoting relaxation. The aim of conscious breathwork is to use the breath as a tool to access different states of consciousness and promote physical, emotional, and psychological healing. It often involves specific breathing patterns, such as deep and slow breathing, and can be done individually or as part of a group session.
